Who we are

We lead people to become disciples of Jesus Christ

Deeper Life Bible Church, Houston is part of a global ministry that began in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1973 under the leadership of Pastor W.F. Kumuyi. What started as a small Bible study has grown into a worldwide movement rooted in the power of the gospel and a call to holy living. From Africa to America, our mission stays the same: to proclaim Christ who still saves, sanctifies, and heals.

Our Houston fellowship began in 1998 – just a handful of believers gathered by faith, with a heart to worship God in spirit and truth. Since then, we’ve grown into a vibrant church family committed to prayer, holiness, evangelism, and life-transforming discipleship.

At Deeper Life, you’ll find sincere worship, sound teaching, and a community that values truth, love, and spiritual growth. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or searching for a place to belong, we’re here to walk with you in your journey of faith.

We believe the gospel isn’t just something we preach – it’s a way of life that shapes our character, deepens our relationships, and draws us closer to Christ.

OUR VISION AND MISSION

To see lives transformed through the gospel of Jesus Christ by preaching the Word, making faithful disciples, and building a Christ-centered community marked by holiness, love, and truth

THE HOLY BIBLE

That the Holy Bible, consisting of 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament, is the inspired Word of God. We take the Bible as the final authority in all matters concerning Christian conduct and work.

(2 Timothy 3:16,17; Proverbs 30:5,6; Revelation 22:18,19.)

That the Godhead consists of three separate, distinct, and recognisable personalities and qualities, perfectly united in one. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are different Persons in the Godhead, not merely three names for one Person.

(Matthew 3:16,17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19,20.)

The virgin birth of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God as well as His crucifixion, death, burial and bodily resurrection.
(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Romans 1:4; I Corinthians 15:3,4.)
